Hi all, Now that we have the theme and formats ironed out...we need to talk about deadlines (I don't know of any publishing project that's survived without a deadline)... I was thinking since this group was born out of a post in the Kumoricon forums...it would be appropriate...(and realistic)... to premiere the anthology at Kumoricon 2009. To do this and have the doujinshi printed in time, we would need all the writing/artwork finished and turned in by the end of May or the Beginning of June. The reason for this is because the Printer's are going to be up to their eyeballs in rush-jobs during July for the Sandiego Comicon, and we would need our book into the printers at this time so they can have it done in August before the con...
Why so far away?... three reasons...
It gives us enough time so new members can have a window to get into the anthology.
It gives us enough time to get our doujinshi done...and critique eachother's work so it can be the best doujinshi possible.
It gives contributors to the anthology enough time to add more pages or do more than one doujinshi story...because currently our group is small. ANd we may need longer stories or more than one story to make a printable page count.
Any thoughts on a deadline? Should we make it sooner? Later? Shoot for a Sakuracon Release date? Which would mean everything would need to be due at the end of February?

Personally I really like the idea of premiering at Kcon! If you guys want to do Sak that's cool too though. Hopefully our group will grow and we'll get a couple more contributers. I'm hoping for the May/June one right now, just incase we get some members a little later down the road that want to contribute to the first project.
Even if we don't have our doujin done by Sak, I think that our group could still be represented there by members who are attending. n.n

I was actually just going to ask if we had set a deadline yet. LOL.
I think Kumoricon would be the best way to go as, like Oniyukai said, their forum was pretty much the place this group started. Plus, it would definitely gives us all enough time to do the best job possible, which is what I think we all want.
I do like Genkiichigo's idea though...some sort of representation at Sakuracon would be good as it's probably the largest con in the area and I know that there are tons of people who don't frequent con forums.

I can't make it to Sak due to my work having a lame limit to days off during the year! I know that the Sak people who were at Kcon were hitting anyone and everyone up for panels this year. I guess they're really looking to expand their selection and get some new material in there. Hehe, just a thought!
Otherwise maybe fliers or something would be a cool idea. I love walking around at cons and picking up all of the different fliers for later.

I'm hopefully going to Sak as Kcon Reg this year...but I'm moving soon after and have to make sure to have everything packed by that time. I've got NaNoWriMo all through November, also Orycon in November, Mew Con over New Years, I'm starting school in Jan., doing Chibi Chibi Con in Feb/March, and AE in June. So honestly, I like the far out deadline at the moment! ^__^;;
Speaking of new members, a friend of a friend asked if I would script a comic he's doing for him. I let him know about the group, so I just need to send him a link. But hopefully we'll be collaborating on a project as well.
